The Gautrain Security Guards Strike gets BLF’s Support

The oppression of blacks in the hands of whites is nothing new in context of South Africa. Every day or other we get to hear news about a black gets exploited under White Domination. It was just yesterday that security guards working as outsourced cheap labor for the Gautrain continued their strike for better working conditions. It must be noted that while Gautrain continues to make profits for white monopoly capital and its black lackeys, it denied to pay a mere amount as a living wage to the security guards who kept on risking their lives for the company. BLF, being always there to stand beside the black natives for their rights and freedom has shown their support for the guards on strike as per a report published on their website  which goes as follows:

Gautrain Security Guards Strike

“BLF calls on Gautrain users to show solidarity with the striking security guards by boycotting the train for the duration of the strike. Furthermore, BLF calls on all workers providing services to the company to join the striking security guards. Gautrain owners hope to weaken the workers by dividing them through intimidation and threats. Workers are one – irrespective if they are cleaners, bus drivers or security guards.

Today the security guards working as outsourced cheap labour for the Gautrain continued their strike for better working conditions. Black First Land First (BLF) supports the striking security guards. Gautrain makes profits for white monopoly capital and its black lackeys, but refuses to pay a living wage to the security guards who risk their lives for the company.

BLF calls on Gautrain management to meet all the demands of the security guards now! Furthermore BLF calls for the insourcing of all the services on the Gautrain rail line. We say no to slave labour.

The owners of Gautrain must disclose how much they pay labour brokers, per security guard. That is the money of workers – the people who do the real work. Let no one benefit from the sweat of others.

Viva security guards viva!”
