Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma is full of confidence ahead of the ANC’s elective conference next month which will decide the next President of ANC and most probably, for the country. NDZ was talking on an exclusive interview with ANN7’s StraightTalk anchor Sifiso Mahlangu‚ that was broadcasted on Saturday afternoon. She further said that it’s up to the party’s branches that will decide the fate of the next leader of ANC but she still has a strong belief that she will rise to the occasion and become the Next ANC president with people’s support.
It’s worth mentioning here that when Mahlangu asked her “Lastly‚ Mama‚ how is your campaign going?”, she calmly replied “It looks good‚”. “Well that’s not for me to answer. But where I’m sitting‚ at the moment‚ it looks good. But it’s not for me to say it until it’s done. That’s until when all the branches have done their nominations and delegates have made their mark at the conference”. It must be noted that during the interview‚ Dlamini-Zuma was asked a number of questions on political and governmental issues and she replied them all with utmost calm and cool. She further said that it’s her belief that if the ANC works well on the implementation of all the policies they proposed, nothing can stop them from being ahead of the rest of the parties.
While her competition is with the ‘dirty’ and corrupt Ramaphosa whose name has already been the highlight of the recent ‘Paradise Papers’ leaks, she still believes that it will be up to the people and the nation to decide. Moreover, it could come down to a two side contest only once secretary-general Gwede Mantashe consolidates the branch nominations‚ most likely in the earliest part of the next month.
